  • Yarn: Alize sekerim "bebe batik", 100% acrylic, 3.53 oz/ 100 g, 350 yds/ 320 mt, 4006 color - 1 skein.
  • Circular Knitting needles, 40 cm/ 16" long, size 3.5 mm/ US 4 and 5 mm/ US 8.
  • Tapestry needle.
  • Stitch marker.

Size and measurements:

  • Size S/M: head circumference 52 - 53 cm (20.5 - 21"), height 17.5 cm (7").
  • Size L: head circumference 56 - 57.5 cm (22 - 22.5"), height 19 cm (7.5").


Gauge:18 sts and 20 rows = 4"x 4" (10 cm x 10 cm) in garter stitch and 5 mm/ US 8 needles.Yardage:

  • Size S/M: 130- 135 meters (140 - 145 yards).
  • Size L: 150-155 meters (165 -170 yards).

Knitting Terms:

  • st: stitch.
  • sts: stitches.
  • k: knit.
  • p: purl.
  • k2tog: k 2 stitches together.
  • ssk: slip next 2 sts knitwise, then knit them through back loops.
  • s2s1ktog: slip two sts as if to knit them together, slip the third one knit-wise, knit the three sts together through back loops (centered double decrease). You can watch my tutorial video below to learn how to knit this stitch:

Instructions:

With 3.5 mm circular knitting needles cast on 126 (144) sts.

Put the ring stitch marker at the beginning of rounds.Ribs Pattern:

Round: *k 1, p 1, repeat from * to end.

Repeat the row 9 times (3 cm/ 1.2").

Change to 5 mm knitting needles and knit one round, then work the following:

Round 1: *k2tog, yo, k 1, yo, ssk, k 4, repeat from * to end.

Round 2: * k 5, p 4, repeat from * to end.

Round 3: knit to end.

Round 4: repeat round 2.

Repeat 1-4 rounds six (seven) times then work 1-3 rounds once.

Decreasing rounds:

Round 1: *ssk, k 1, k2tog, p 4, repeat from * to end. (98, 112 sts)

Round 2: knit to end.

Round 3: *k 3, p 4, repeat from * to end.

Round 4: *s2s1ktog, k 4, repeat from * to end. (70, 80 sts)

Round 5: *k 1, p 4, repeat from * to end.

Round 6: k 2, k2tog, *k 3, k2tog, repeat from * to last st, k 1. (56, 64 sts)

Round 7: *k 1, p 3, repeat from * to end.

Round 8: *k 2, k2tog, repeat from * to end. (42, 48 sts)

Round 9: *k 1, p 2, repeat from * to end.

Round 10: *k 1, k2tog, repeat from * to end. (28, 32 sts)

Round 11: *k 1, p 1, repeat from * to end.

Round 12: k2tog to end. (14,16 sts)

Cut yarn, leaving a 6" (15 cm) long yarn tail, pull it through all sts and tighten tog. Weave in loose ends. Make a small pompom and attach it to the top if you like.
