GAUGE

28 sts/28 rounds = 4 inches/10 cm in colorwork pattern, after blocking

PATTERN NOTES

This cowl starts off with a crochet provisional cast on. It is then worked in the round to form a long tube. When finished, the two ends of the tube are grafted together using Kitchener stitch.

PM, join in the round being careful not to twist your sts.
Rnd 2 and 3: Knit.

Next round: Work Chart 1 four times around.
Work as set until you have worked all 60 rows of Chart 1 twice, and worked rows 1-30 once more.
With MC only, knit 4 rounds.

Section 2
Next round: Work Chart 2 four times around.
Work as set until Chart 2 is complete.
With MC only, knit 5 rounds.

Section 3
Next round: Work Chart 3 four times around.
Work as set until you have worked all 60 rows of Chart 3 twice, and worked rows 1-30 once more.

Next round: Work Chart 4 four times around.

Slip sts to a holder or scrap yarn.

FINISHING

Weave in ends. Block.

Transfer sts from waste yarn onto spare 16-inch circular needle. Graft two ends of cowl using Kitchener stitch.
