Requirements:

6 x 25g Balls of double knitting Wool (hat pictured is made using Red, blue, pink, purple and green)
1 x 3.25mm Knitting Needles
1 x 4mm Knitting Needles

Pattern:

To make hat (make 2):
Using 3.25mm needles cast on 44 stitches in colour A (Red).
Row 1: [K2, P2] to end
Row 2: [K2, P2] to end
Repeat these 2 rows 5 more times (10 rows in total).
Change to 4mm needles and work 7 rows in stocking stitch.
Change to Colour B (Blue) and work 3 rows in stocking stitch.
Change to Colour C (White) and work 3 rows in stocking stitch.
Change to Colour D (Pink) and work 6 rows in stocking stitch.
Change to Colour E (Purple) and work 6 rows in stocking stitch.
Change to Colour C (White) and work 3 rows in stocking stitch.
Change to Colour F (Green) and work 3 rows in stocking stitch.
Change to Colour C (White) and work 6 rows in stocking stitch.
Cast Off


To make Up:
Sew up sides and top of hat. Make 2 tie strings for the top of the hat by casting on 50sts, then casting off and secure. Attach a tie string to the top corner of hat at both sides. For best effect these should be attached after sewing up the edges not by incorporating them into the seam.
