Requirements:

50g Double Knitting Yarn in Mid Green
50g Double Knitting Yarn in Beige
4.0mm Knitting Needles
Wool Needle

Instructions: 

Tension
24sts or 30 rows to 10cm, using stocking stitch on 4 mm needles

Abbreviation and Meaning

sts Stitches

P Purl (number after it refers to how many stitches to Purl)

K Knit (number after it refers to how many stitches to knit)

K2tog Knit two together (knit next two stitches together as if they were a single stitch (decreasing a stitch)

[ ] instructions within square brackets to be repeated as specified after bracket

To make sides of tea cosy (need 2 alike):

Using 4mm needles and the green yarn cast on 27 stitches.
Rib: [K1, P1] to last stitch, K1
Repeat this row until 5.5cm (2.25inches).
Change to beige yarn and starting with a knit row continue in stocking stitch until work measures 10cm (4 inches), ending with a purl row.

Shape Crown:

Row 1: K2, K2tog, K5, K2tog, K5, K2tog, K5, K2tog, K2 (23 sts)

Row 2: Purl to end

Row 3: K2, K2tog, K4, K2tog, K3, K2tog, K4, K2tog, K2 (19 sts)

Row 4: Purl to end

Row 5: K2, K2tog, K2, K2tog, K3, K2tog, K2, K2tog, K2 (15 sts)

Row 6: Purl to end

Row 7: K1, [K2tog] 3 times, K1, [K2tog] 3 times, K1 (9 sts)

Row 8: Purl to end

Row 9: [K2 tog] 2 times, K1, [K2 tog] 2 times (5 sts)

Row 10: Purl to end

Row 11: K2 tog, K1,K2 tog (3 sts)

Row 12: Purl to end Cast off in Knit.

To make up:

With right sides together, join the seams of the two sides together leaving gaps for the spout and handle. (Measure against the teapot). Be particularly careful when joining the tops as the acorns have a little peak at the end. Sew in any loose ends. Turn the right way out, place on the teapot and keep away from squirrels.
