Requirements:

1 pair of 5.0mm Needles
1 x 25g Aran Weight Yarn

40cm (16 inches) 0.5mm width dress elastic (for elasticated option)

sts Stitches

[ ] All details enclosed in [ ] should be repeated as specified

K Knit (number after it refers to how many stitches to knit)

P Purl (number after it refers to how many stitches to purl)

C3F Cable 3 forward. (Slip next 3 stitches onto cable needle and hang at front of work, knit next 3 stitches then pick up and knit stitches from the cable needle)

To make:
Using 5.0mm needles, cast on 12 stitches
Row 1: P3, K6, P3
Row 2: K3, P3, K3
work rows 1 and 2 once more

** Cable Row: P3, C3F, P3
Work row 2 once , then rows 1 and 2, a further three time**
** These rows form pattern.

Repeat the ** pattern **, until work measures 48cm (19 inches) long for the full length headband or 32cm (19 inches) for the elasticated headband.
Cast Off in pattern.

To make Up:

For full length headband, stitch the short ends of the hairband together. Sew in any loose ends.
For the elasticated headband, sew in loose ends. Attach 2 x 16cm (7 inches) of elastic to the bottom corners of the hairband. Cross the elastic at the back of the hairband and attach the other end of the elastic to the opposite corners on the other side of the headband
