Note:
All Slip 2 instructions are to be slipped at the same time as if to knit.
p2sso- pass two slipped sts overWith a needle one size larger than you will work with, CO 105 sts, leaving an 18 inch tail for sewing up with later.
Change to your chosen needle and purl 21 sts. Leave rem sts on needle; you will work them later. Pm and turn.
Row 1 (RS): Sl 1, k8, sl 2, k1, p2sso, k to end of row, turn - 19 sts.
Row 2: Sl 1, p rem 18 sts.
Row 3: Sl 1, k7, sl 2, k1, p2sso, k rem 8 sts - 17 sts.
Row 4: Sl 1, p rem 16 sts.
Row 5: Sl 1, k6, sl 2, k1, p2sso, k rem 7 sts - 15 sts.
Row 6: Sl 1, p14.
Row 7: Sl 1, k5, sl 2, k1, p2sso, k6.
Row 8: Sl 1, p12.
Row 9: Sl 1, k4, sl 2, k1 p2sso, k5.
Row 10: Sl 1, p10.
Row 11: Sl 1, k3, sl 2, k1, p2sso, k4.

Turn.
Work the following directions until you have used up all of your stitches and have 5 points or petals.
With WS facing, pick up 9 sts down the finished petal, pm.
Do not cut yarn.
Purl the next 21 sts of those waiting on the needle.
Row 1 (RS): Sl 1, k8, sl 2, k1, p2sso, k8, k the next st tog with the first st on the other side of the needle tbl (on the side of the completed petal).
Row 2: Sl 1, p rem 18 sts.
Row 3: Sl 1, k7, sl 2, k1, p2sso, k7, k the next st tog with the first st on the other side of the needle tbl.
Row 4: Sl 1, p16.
Row 5: Sl 1, k6, sl 2, k1, p2sso, k6, k the next st tog with the first st on the other side of the needle tbl.
Row 6: Sl 1, p14.
Row 7: Sl 1, k5, sl 2, k1, p2sso, k5, k the next st tog with the first st on the other side of the needle tbl.
Row 8: Sl 1, p12.
Row 9: Sl 1, k4, sl 2, k1, p2sso, k4, k the next st tog with the first st on the other side of the needle tbl.

Finishing
When you have completed all five petals, sew the bottom edge together with the first petal. Run threaded tapestry needle through all sts waiting on holders and pull tightly to close. Weave in ends on WS.
