  • *Asterisks mark a repeated stitch pattern*.
  • Your stitch count is in parentheses at the end of relevant rounds.
  • This pattern is written so that the brim is very fitted. If you knit tightly or like a looser brim, I recommend casting on with a larger size needle before switching to 8 mm US 11 needles for the rest of the brim or using 9 mm US 13 needles for the entire brim for a looser fit.
  • The hat is knit with the black stripe included on the body and then the belt buckle is added in duplicate stitch afterwards.
  • Duplicate stitch is a technique where you use the same or thicker yarn in a contrast color and embroider into the stitches already created; making a pattern over the top.
