Knitted Bookcase Dishcloth

Imagine a cozy bookcase made entirely out of intricately knitted yarn, creating a unique and charming addition to any room. This knitted bookcase not only serves as a functional storage solution for books and other items, but also adds a touch of warmth and creativity to the space. The handcrafted nature of the piece gives it a special charm, making it a conversation starter for guests and a beloved item for the owner. On the other hand, picture a delicate dishcloth made from the same knitted yarn, providing a soft and absorbent surface for drying dishes or wiping down countertops. The intricate knit pattern adds a touch of elegance to an otherwise mundane household item, making it a joy to use in the kitchen. This knitted dishcloth not only serves a practical purpose, but also brings a sense of handmade beauty to everyday tasks.

Size and Materials

With DK/Light Worsted Weight yarn and 4 mm (US 6, UK 8) knitting needles, finished squares are approximately 22 cm x 22 cm (8.5 inches x 8.5 inches). I highly recommend Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash Yarn.

With Worsted Weight yarn and and 4.5 mm knitting needles (US size 7, UK size 7) finished square is approximately 26 cm x 26 cm (10 inches x 10 inches). I highly recommend Cascade 220 (Aran)

Any sized needle and yarn can be used (please refer to yarn label for recommended needle size), however different needle and yarn sizes will produce different sized squares, so if you plan to make an afghan or a set of these it is best to use the same needle size and yarn for each square.
